GOLDEN FRIED PRAWNS

Ingredients:

  • 14 prawn pieces
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 2 tsp oyster sauce
  • 3/4 cup refined flour
  • Salt as required
  • 1/4 tsp Msg
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • White pepper powder
  • Refined oil as required

Method:

  1. Wash, remove the shells, and de-vein prawns while retaining the tip of the tail. 
  2. Pat dry the prawns with a paper towel. In a bowl, mix garlic paste, oyster sauce, lemon juice, soy sauce, white pepper powder, MSG, and salt.
  3. Apply the prepared mixture on the prawns and refrigerate them for 2 hours to marinate. 
  4. Now mix refined flour, cornflour, baking powder, 3 tbsp oil, salt, and a three-fourth cup of water. Whisk to make a batter and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  5. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Then dip the marinated prawns in the batter by holding the tail and deep-fry on medium heat. 
  6. Turn them frequently for two to three minutes until they are golden brown.
  7. Transfer them on a plate lined with absorbent paper and serve hot with a sauce of your choice.
